As I have been helping Jay get the blog going and doing my own research on Madagscar, I’ve been
blown away by the beauty of this country and its people. Imagine a place where you can see both rain forests, rice fields, and African savannas, all in a small country just slightly larger than France.
According to Wikipedia, Madagascar is home to 5 percent of the world’s plant and animal species, and more than 80 percent are endemic. And they are all beautiful, from the lemurs to the baobob trees, to the gorgeous flowers.
I have created a “Beautiful Madagascar” page with photos I have found, and I will keep adding to the page for a while. After Jay gets to Madagascar in January, he can add more photos.
If this makes you want to go to Madagascar, I’m with you. The island is an undiscovered paradise and, even though it has much poverty and suffering, it is still beautiful. Let’s brush up on our French and go soon!
