Travel mode version 1.0, as defined by Breitlow: The ability to live your physical life in an unfamiliar place, with little to no real responsibility. Where the sounds, sights and smells of travel bring out the best and warmest of human emotion, and it’s always Ok to have another cup of coffee.’
Today I took a very deliberate step into ‘travel mode’ as I boarded a plane to Ghana via Amsterdam. This particular version of travel mode must be updated to version 2.0 though because thanks to all our J2S friends there is real work to be done on the ground in Ghana. So as I am now in travel mode version 2.0 the new definition reads: The ability to live your physical life in an unfamiliar place, with ACCEPTIONAL responsibility. Where the sounds, sights and smells of travel bring out the best in our team in a combined effort to bring about real change in the world so that everyone can experience the warmest of human emotion… and it’s still Ok to have another cup of coffee.’
More coming on the sights and sounds of Accra, Ghana. For now know that I am being rewarded tonight, in this new and exciting place, with 90 degree heat. For everyone’s support, as we have had nearly a month of delays getting to this point, thank you. I am eternally grateful.
