-Dr. Christina Hunter D.C. - Chiropractic Physician and Volunteer

Dr. Hunter with young Christopher in NorthEast Ghana. Christopher was born with HIV and is orphaned.
I had my first real experience with volunteer work as a chiropractor after receiving an invitation from Dr. Breitlow to join him at HardtHaven. This was truely an eye-opening and life changing experience. Although we were there to provide a service and help the children, the love and joy we received in return was beyond comparison. There’s no better gift in the world than the feeling of giving from the heart. This fueled my desire even more to help the children at HardtHaven have a chance at having a healthy life. How much more wonderful and balanced would the world be if everyone could provide their love, skills, and resources to help those in need? Thanks to organizations like J2S that are encouraging hope and restoring health. I am also looking forward for all things to be made possible for J2S to return to Ghana!

I have had the opportunity to work with Non-Profit organizations before, however my experience with Journey to Solidarity was by far the most fulfilling. Dr. Jay Breitlow, Director and Founder of J2S, helped me connect with a small village near the city of Cape Coast in Ghana, West Africa. Children at the school there had never seen spiral notebooks, colored pencils, or colored paper; things that I took for granted as a child. My mission became clear - in the hopes of creating an enhanced learning environment, I needed to provide basic school essentials to these children. This all became a reality when Journey to Solidarity received my contribution and successfully delivered a suitcase full of supplies to the village. Because of this cohesive effort, these children have an improved chance of becoming whatever their dreams hold – in this, I have found an endless reward.

I would say we were glad to have chiropratic here in Ghana and that benefited my family a lot it all started with my mom who couldn’t walk straight she bend as she walks and it was with pain we used all type of medicine we knew of until someone introduce us to a chiropratic centre and we were amazed to see my mom straightening and walking well without pains just for some few weeks infact seeing this i decided to visit myself when my mom told me Dr.Jay was giving a free treatment. I thank God for bring(ing) CHIROPRACTIC and Dr. Jay to Ghana as at now that I am giving testimony about myself and my mom, we are looking (more) healthy than before (and) my frequent neck pain has (ceased). I will recommend everyone should go in for a chiropractic treatment.

Just can’t express my joy for the very first time i experienced what chiropractic is all about. it is indeed a real heart felt experience. this is when i had the chance to first adjust my self in a life time and also had the opportunity to be invited by Dr. Robert (Champagne) and Dr. Breitlow when they visited Kumasi on one of their volunteering trip(s). i was indeed very happy when i realized that i was part of the team that was rendering the service of hope and restoring health. i equally had the chance to be exposed to new ideas and new ways of healing ourselves and also contributed my quata(time and energy) to the new expereice i’ve had. it is indeed an experience that i recomend each and every one to do at least once. (Your) life will never be the same. we really appreciate ur time and ur commitment to help the average Ghanaian retore health and we wish to share the same wonderful experience with u all again. thanks a million.
